I cry because I have a wound that won’t heal

I cry because I am fighting a battle I have already lost

I cry because there is no ray of light

I cry because people are dying

I cry because there is no-one to turn to

I cry because I am bleeding

I cry because my voice is silent

I cry because tomorrow isn’t worth living

I cry because the tears won’t stop

I cry because somewhere a child is going hungry

I cry because so many hearts are broken

I cry because of the tears shed over tiny graves

I cry because somewhere a man can’t afford to buy his children a jacket

I cry because somewhere a polar bear is drowning

I cry because somewhere there is sorrow

But there is no use in crying

No use in shedding tears

The only thing to do is get out there and do something.
